VIKINGR rated  Superb
This is certainly one of Nygma's simpler designs, but having said that, it plays very well as a 4p or 5p game, the graphics are good and gameplay is crisp. Well done.

Go-Geared rated  Superb
Excellent dualing map and good fun - definitely a thinker's map. Against the best players, it's easy to make 1 simple mistake and it'll cost you the game.

Mediterranean Mayhem rated  Good
A good, unique board. Sets up some interesting play. Fog is a must, preferably medium, but atleast light. Not perfect, but pretty good.

Gunslinger rated  Great
I'm a bit torn between a 7 and 8 on this one. Let's just call it pretty good. The original map is very bland and a bad turn 1 can essentially end things for you - it's essentially a beginner map. I find the sequel a fun map to play. While getting your bullets is still a high priority, there are some other tactics to use to frustrate your opponent. Graphically, well done. Nice job Amidon and Weathertop on this one.

A very good board from master Kjeld. Good choke points, straightforward design and nice graphics make this a fun play.

Feudal Japan rated  Superb
I really like this map. It's simple, yet effective. One has to decide how much effort to put into grabblng the citadels/capital and how much to put into going for territory and continent bonuses. Generally, you cannot do both for the first several turns.

Earth Reversed rated  Great
Very nice board by Viper. A nice concept, with simple play style, and yet it feels a bit different (in a good way) from the average Risk game.

It's a good map, a solid map...and yet, for simulgear play, a simple map. In my experiences, luck factor plays a little too much of a role. I hate to differ from Gimli's rating, but there it is.

Solid board. Gameplay is simple, but one should play with a defensive position at their back. Fun theme.

An excellent board with multiple strategies available. Know your crystals!

Capture the Flag rated  Good
A good carryover from the other site. It's a good setup, but play can degenerate predictably. Would be better if 'return to attack from fortify' was on, which I believe was the setting on the other site. That would bump up the rating for me 1 star.

Arena Standard Play rated  Superb
Another very good board by Kjeld. Should be listed as medium complexity (not simple). One should be aware of the board's different resource locations and also the various terrain which greatly affects the dice border mods. Also, the unlimited reserves should be used to tactical advantage.

Escalation rated  Perfect
Really an ingenius design by Red Baron. This is a true thinker's map and should be played without fog, to allow the maximum decision-making. Attack often early, but pick your spots later when the unit totals dwindle. And be aware of where the 'safe' spots are.

Iwo Jima rated  Superb
Excellent board. Lots of different attack/defend options makes gameplay variable each time. Students of history will also like this. Well done Ozyman.

As a caveat however, I must say the following - I absolutely hate playing this map as I seem to get BS dice 90% of the time I play it and a tourney on it actually drove me to a sabbatical from the site for a year. Getting bad dice on a map like this, for a competitive person, is enough to drive a person mad.

Invention rated  Perfect
Truly one of the elite boards on the site. Ozyman has done an awesome job with the mechanics, balancing and graphics for this map. Tons of replayability, flexibility and the map is simply fun to play. V2 is an improvment on the original.

The Walking Dead rated  Great
Very fun board. Playing the 'good guys' requires lots of communication/teamwork. Playing the Walkers requires some ingenuity to maximize the orders/fortifies. Allows for great variety in playstyles. I only wish that there were more scenarios.

Stellar Conflict rated  Superb
An ingenius design by Nygma. Fun game to play. A bit of an early learning curve. The 1 element keeping it from a 10 is I think battles between 2 knowledgeable players will rely too heavily on who gets better dice against the techs. Would like to see another scenario for 2v2 teamplay and possibly the incorporation of space marines (who can board opposing ship(s).

Seven Redux rated  Average
This board is fun, makes for short games and is good to look at.

The downside: after playing 10 games on it - for two players who know what they are doing, the outcome is not in doubt after initial setup 90+% of the time.

Miners rated  Superb
After several dev games and some open games, I've found Miners to be a very fun map to play, with a design that rewards intelligent and bold play. It's encumbant on each player to decide what the best path to the precious minerals is - to switch into opposing player's paths or to secure their own path - and each game plays out differently. Well done Kjeld.

I find this to be a pretty fun board. While not overly complicated, it does reward clever play. The map has a crisp, clean look and also an elegant description of gameplay. Well done Viper.
